NMA AWARD CATEGORY DEFINITIONS

 

1.  NMAA HONOURARY (Special Recognitions):
This category seeks to recognize those outstanding achievers, personalities across the country – as it cuts across all industries, royal institutions, institutions, government establishments, notable individuals and brands that have added value to the society as role models.

2. NMAA ADVERTISING AGENCY OF THE YEAR:
An advertising agency that makes good use of models in projecting brands and innovative marketing communication services with a good number of adverts on multimedia formats.

3. NMAA PRODUCTION HOUSE OF THE YEAR:
A visuals production company that employs models in projecting brands through the use of outstanding and creative TV commercial(s).

4. NMAA PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR:
Must be an outstanding photographer/photography studio with a good portfolio of creative works, who/which has been consistent over the year and is always ready to work with models. The photographer must have a selection of photography works that has been used in any genre of modeling.

5. NMAA MODEL ARTIST OF THE YEAR  :
An artist who has represented brands, as a model in the past 12 months, in areas involving, billboards, calendars, television commercials and other jobs involving visuals.

6. NMAA ENTERTAINMENT PERSONALITY OF THE YEAR:
This to reward exceptional practices and outstanding achievers especially in changing the faces of Entertainment in Nigeria.

7. NMAA MODEL COMEDIAN   OF THE YEAR  :
A comedian who has represented brands, as a model, in areas involving, billboards, calendars, television commercials and other jobs involving visuals.

8. NMAA CHILD/TEENAGE MODEL OF THE YEAR:
Kids/Teenage talents (models, music, acting or any form of art between the ages: 5-17 years who have represented a particular brand(s) are eligible for participation in this category.

9.NMAA CELEBRITY OF THE YEAR:
A Celebrity (across entertainment industry) that have added value to our society as role models.

10. NMAA MATURE MODELS OF THE YEAR (FEMALE):
Modeling for products targeting mature adults and featuring mature adults.  A mature model that is age 36 years and above, with an excellent portfolio.

11. NMAA MATURE MODELS OF THE YEAR (MALE):
Modeling for products targeting mature adults and featuring mature adults.  A mature model that is age 36 years and above, with an excellent portfolio.

12. NMAA FASHION MODEL OF THE YEAR (FEMALE):
A model who has done a series of runway jobs at fashion shows- local and international- in the last one year, showcasing clothing and accessories, typically used for visual adverts. Short video submissions and print are ideal for this category.

13. NMAA FASHION  MODEL OF THE YEAR (MALE):
A model who has done a series of runway jobs at fashion shows- local and international- in the last one year, showcasing clothing and accessories, typically used for visual adverts. Short video submissions and print are ideal for this category.

14. NMAA COMMERCIAL MODEL OF THE YEAR (FEMALE):
Modeling with a smiling look. Commercial modeling can include lingerie, corporate wear and swimwear. It can range from cheesecake pinup photos to calendar, newspapers, billboards, posters, internet for websites, banner ads, and Maxim style images. Commercial models should have good physique and beautiful facial appearance.

15. NMAA COMMERCIAL MODEL OF THE YEAR (MALE):
Modeling with a smiling look. Commercial modeling can include corporate wear and swimwear. It can range from cheesecake pinup photos to calendar, newspapers, billboards, posters, internet for websites, banner ads, and Maxim style images. Commercial models should have good physique and handsome faces.

16. NMAA TALENT MANAGER OF THE YEAR:
A management company with an office, training facilities for its talents (models, performing artistes- music artistes, comedians etc.). Must have credible records and must have kept most of its talents busy with good jobs recently. Additionally, the company must also have a working website or work sampling showcasing the poster of talent or recent work procured on behalf of a talent(s).

17. NMAA MAKE-UP ARTIST OF THE YEAR:
A make-up artiste whose work is seen in editorial features, print or television advertising campaigns, music videos, movies, concert performances, and any public appearances made by models or actors.

18. NMAA YOUNG ENTERPRENEUR OF THE YEAR:
A young entrepreneur in his/her field or area of specialization, thereby adding value to the society as role models and with an outstanding profile.

19. NMAA  NEW MEDIA OF THE YEAR:
A blog or website that has been consistently useful to the entertainment industry and the public in general.

20. NMAA FASHION DESIGNER OF THE YEAR:
A creative fashion designer who has been able to do incredibly well in the fashion industry, with effective use of models.

21. NMAA MODEL ACTOR OF THE YEAR:
An actor who combines both acting and modeling (as a brand ambassador) and has an outstanding portfolio.

22. NMAA  MOST OUTSTANDING BEAUTY QUEEN  OF THE YEAR:
A Beauty Queen (past or reigning) who has used her pet project to affect the society positively as a role model, has represented our nation locally and international, brands, as a model, in areas involving, billboards, calendars, television commercials and other jobs involving visuals.

23. NMAA MODEL PRESENTER OF THE YEAR:
A successful presenter that has an iconic fashion statement in the entertainment industry and excels as a model (Spokesperson / Host).

24. NMAA  FAST-RISING MODEL ACTOR OF THE YEAR:
Models that have ventured into professional acting and are making progressive impact.

25. NMAA MODEL OF THE YEAR (MALE):
An African model who possesses attitude and the quality of glamour and runway. Typically, this is exhibited during a fashion show when a model walks on a runway or an elevated platform, to showcase clothing and accessories to potential buyers; modeling with a smile. Commercial modeling can include corporate wears, swim wears or multipurpose clothing. Model should have catwalk charisma, a good physique and a handsome face.

26. NMAA MODEL OF THE YEAR (FEMALE):
An African model who possesses attitude and the quality of glamour and runway. Typically, this is exhibited during a fashion show when a model walks on a runway or an elevated platform, to showcase clothing and accessories to potential buyers; modeling with a smile. Commercial modeling can include corporate wears, swim wears or multipurpose clothing. Model should have catwalk charisma, a good physique and a handsome face.
